Building Industry Fairness Reforms Including Security of Payment Update

May 26 @ 7:30 am - 10:30 am

In mid-2018, the Minister for Housing and Public Works, Mick de Brenni, appointed the independent Building Industry Fairness Reforms Implementation and Evaluation Panel, to undertake an evaluation of the implementation of the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017 (BIF Act).

The Independent Panel subsequently completed a report containing 20 key recommendations in relation to the Project Bank Accounts and Security of Payment laws which the Government has committed to implementing as part of an update to the BIF Act in 2020.

In this seminar, we will provide an update and refresher on security of payment law generally as well as detailing the recommendations made in the Report and how the implantation of those recommendations may impact you and the industry more generally.
